Hi folks. I snapped the preload collar off my 2002 5th element at the weekend. I heard the older cast ones were a problem so it came as no surprise. What i wondering was if I get the new one can it be screwed on the shock from the side where the spring comes off or would i need to send the shock off the get the collar fitted?

If you live in the US - give Progressive a call they have a great customers service and are always super nice.

Yeah just give Progressive a call. Great customer service. If you can live without the shock for about a week, send it to them for full service. They will hook you up right, change the bushings, seals, and upgrade you to '05 parts. (There's a new control valve that helps small bump performance.) And they'll do it fast, ordinarily you'll get it back in less than a week. Not sure it matters if you are in or outside the US.
