So I have a great deal in front of me right now. A 2002 Monster T for $250. This fork would be going on an 03 V10. I am a pretty big guy at 6'3'' 270lbs and I need soemthing, stiff, strong and durable. I ride dh, some freeride and drops but mostly racing but at a non-weight weenie level. I dont mind my bikes heavy because that way I feel like I have something to rely on and I feel more comfortable.
I have previously owned boxxers. I liked the way the fork was very responsive and felt active and soaked up all the small stuff but I didnt like how I shot through the travel on the big stuff and how it topped out and the flexiness of it.
Im wondering if I should go with the monster which is about as heavy of a fork as I would like, or go for something new that coming out or something else. Money IS a factor, I do have a job so saving up isnt a problem but I cant justify paying $1,000 unless necissary for a fork so I am thinking used is a batter choice.
If anyone has any advice or experiences with this set up let me know. Also what other forks I should look at. And if anyone has any pics of a V10 with a 2002 Monster T on it, post it up, I searched for a while and couldn't come up with much.
Thanks, Dan
