Just got a used fork. Looking for general information as well as what should be done to it. I think i remember there being a 6" to 7" upgrade, but i cna't remember now, so if I could just get as much info on this shock as possible that'd be sweet.

Give 'er a rebuild, at least some fresh oil. SRAM.com has links to the tech and owners manuals, they are your best source, other then the 
To change travel you do not have to buy anything. You take the fork apart and relocate some spacers. They come new set at 7".
