Not sure, but the Formula B4 hydrolic is already there. They bill it as the lightest hydrolic cross country brake at 350g for everything - rotor, fluid, cable, caliber, lever and hardware. Works great and can be had for $130
Avid Single digit V is 186g, lever 86g + whatever a cable and housing is and you are right about at the B4 weight. Not sure if avid's weight includes pads either.
Don't forget a lot of disc hubs are heavy - especially Shimano's current disc hubs. A Hugi disc hub is a good deal and light too, so if you are doing the disc upgrade, you might lose weight on the hub if you pick the right one
yeah '03 XTR is a package deal regading the hubs. Might as well bill the weight as including the hubs, disks, calipers and levers. Unless of course $himano decides in their infinite wisdom to license the spline/lockring interface (ha ha) to other companies.
The SRAM disc has been available here in Europe since about the beginning of the year. Tests are saying it's performance lies somewhere between the XT disc and the Grimeca 8. Grimeca makes it on license to SRAM - probably a step up in the manufacturing process and materials departments.
All SRAM needs to do is start making cranks - then they can be seriously considered as competition for Shimano. I really get a kick out of the new X-O stuff from them. A shame that I can't buy any of it (and all my new XT stuff works just fine...)

I wasn't going to get into the XTR proprietary system they have working there - that's for another thread. I was speaking strickly towards making the move to discs in general if you are looking at weight. If you use the B4 you can move to discs without weight gain (and the price is pretty good too). Been using one on the front for almost 5 months and love it. Zero problems. I'd put one on the rear if I had a disc mount on my frame.
If the new XTR disc is the same diameter as the XT, then you will be able to use a number of discs and hubs. As long as the rotor is compatible. If that is IF.
Hope Minis with rotor/fluid/caliper/lever is around 350 as well...pair that up with a Chris King ISo hub and you probably have one of the lightest combinations in existence. I just got a hope mini so I'll try to weight it to see.
Hope Minis (380g complete) and American Classic's Ultralight Disc hubs: 140g/F and 250g/R would be a pretty light set-up and provide more stopping power than your tires can give you.
Other light disc hubs...
DT-Swiss Hugi 240: 163g/F and 271g/R
Hayes Superlight: 166g/F and 272g/R
Chris King Universal: 150g/F and 282g/R
Hope splined (Hope 5-bolt disc specific): 166g/F and 318g/R
xtr rotors have dedicated hubs... the disc attached via a cassette type spline and a lockring... so until cris king and others start doing this, it's only gonna work with xtr.
