Anyone else have a problem with water getting into the Bottom Bracket?

I went to norba at snow shoe with my NEW bike ...raced...Hosed it a few time down there, then brought it home gave it a good bath......I went to re-align my E13 and pulled the left cup off my BB and about 8oz + of water came pouring out..much to my suprise! I cant figure how it got in there.... anyone else have this problem? Maybe you should check your BB and see if you have the same problem.
I called Santa Cruz and they said there are pin holes near the welds to help releive the pressure during the welding process...dammed if I can find them and I cant see a few pin holes taking on this amount of water...!

Your thoughts?

drill a small hole on the bottom of your bb shell so water will drain out. Water could have gotten in through your seat tube/seat post if you washed the underside of your saddle water could have splashed off and gone right down your seat tube into your bottom bracket shell.

On my AS-X I have braze-ons for a waterbottle on the bottom of the down tube (for whatever reason) I've gotten dirt inside my frame from the tire picking up pieces of sand and tossing it right inside that little hole. I know it sounds bizzare but I swear if I turn my bike upside down you can hear the sand bouncing around inside the tubes. I guess I should get some nylon screws and plug those stupid holes one of these days.

My V10 was the same...there are some holes at the welds on the inside of the frame (opening where the shock is) that just collects water. once I "lightly" rinsed my bike, and when I took my BB out there was TONS of water in there :(

I remember seeing that you coudn't wash the v10 with pressure, for the bearings, and maybe such problemes like your having.

Mine i sfine ( 2004 ) washed it by hand with the "shower" mod on my garden hose.
And i have never had a probleme.Yet my v10 i sonly a week old lol.

If you have no idea wat to do.You coud always call santa cruz lol and wait 30 minutes on the line lol.

Mine was the same as well. For some odd reason, every SC bike I owned always hold water really well. It was the same with my bullit, everytime I took off the BB it was always filled with water.

take the shock off
take the BB out
break out that Mag lite and look here: I can guarantee you there are holes there where the water gets in. That's how mine was.

Ahhh Haaa! Here's just one more example of why Bullits are better than ASX's. Bullits come from the factory with those little nylon screws installed already! Why would you not have screws in those holes? Trying to save some weight?

I don't think you can wash any bike with pressure. It's bad for the bearings.
meh, i use a pressure washer on my bikes all the damn time, and the bearings are fine. Of course, my frame only has 2 32mm bearings, but they are uncapped and wide open to the elements..

some are better than others, and bearing seizures (!?) seem fairly random. I locked up two 6000s in the first weekend, then nothing all summer.

I'm too busy ridding to worry about where to find some bolts or what size to get :D
