I work at a bike shop and recently bought a BigHit Expert...

I ride pretty hard with it and well the bike isn't like when I bought it so I'm upgrading it....

Here's what I wanna put on it... tell me if it's the right choice... I ride DH/FR:

Sherman Slider PLUS
5TH Element CV/t 5
DeeMax's
Saint Brakes Front/Rear
Saint Levers combo
Saint Shifter
Diabolus Stem and Bar
Chris King thrls GOLD headset

these parts any good for what I do?? would it be a good choice??

Thanks

Shiver

dude, if your riding dh put a bigger fork on it... i as well have a 2004 big hit expert but i have a large frame, so the 888's dont fit unless i get the drop crowns...bummer. but dude i'd get a 888...shiver somethin around there...hayes el caminos. and some bombshell crushers...but everything else sounds sick. good luck w/ the bike..i love mine but i have to get some new stuff as well.

Well Shiver DC aren't available in Canada currently (PLZ BRING EM BACK MARZ) and I've had a really bad experience with a Marz 888 at Whistler...

As for caminos.... not so sure... I know they're good but I wanna keep some money for other bikes... and Saint brakes are powerful and fit in my budget...

As for Bombshell crushers... they aren't currently available in Montreal either
but the more I think about it... Might get some MTX's laced to saint hubs...

I'm a minor and therefor I can't have a credit card...

And my parents hate me biking so they won't let me do the transaction through their credit card.... :mumble: :mumble: :mumble:

I'm gonna cry...

Call them and ask to speak with David. He is the owner. He might be able to arrange for you to send a Money Order or something. Pretty relaxed guy, he will try to help (call a couple of times, this company is bad at ONE thing, responding to phone messages)

or you could get a used shiver. I don't see why you should pay more for an 05', when the only thing different about it is the color and decals.

well Love bunny I'd be interested although I still have to work a big ass while to raise the money THEN change it to USD....

But umm I don't remember... are the stickers on or no? cuz I'd really want one without stickers....

okay my opinion is go with the juicy sevens cause of easy no tool pad adjustment and they are a well known dh brake setup. tpirate has the fives and loves them so you cant go wrong with those from what he says. also if you want an 05 siver go-ride has them and i think that they take money orders. and i deffinatly say stay away from the saints there cool and all but i just dont like the rotor mounting system and the juicy's have been around a wee bit longer. but everything else is spot on. also if you cant get your hands on a shiver see if you can talk to your lbs about getting an 04 super t i love mine and it keeps up with the best of them. and it can huck like no other. and the black stanchions with the silver lowers look sick. so good luck man. ohh and the diablous bar and stem are a must have i love mine and they look sick on my rig and will deffinatly look wicked on the big hit. just my 2 cents man peace out. :thumb:

Yeah I know...

But I still can't get a Shiver DC through my shop....
Might try looking for some used Shiver DC...

And do the Juicy 7 or 5 have the same levers as the Avid Speed Dial??

for some reason, reading this post reminded me of pinkbike....

as for the build:

saint brakes are AMAZING, dont listen to these people about not liking shimano hydros, 4 pot xt's are someof the best brakes ever made.
Also, the saint hubs are fantastic, and if you get the brakes, the centerlock will work great.
King headset: check out a fsa pig dh pro...a great headset, and half the price.
sherman slider+: thats a great fork, but i think its going to be too steep for your use, check out maybe a boxxer team?
mtx rims are awesome as well...wayyyy strong, and not even heavy, i recommend.
diablos bar/stem combo: i havnt ever used it,b ut it do know the raceface anno turns to purple after a while, check out Easton Vice/EA70 31.8, GREAT set up.
5th element: check out the manitou swinger, its the same technology, or if you can get a DHX, that would be killer too

Don't rule out the Any if you have the money they work great on Bighits, everyone that has one swears by it. I was going to put one on my bighit until I bought a demo9. I ran a shiver and an 888 on my 03 bighit comp w/8" rear must admit I liked the shiver better until I bought the drop crowns from Go-Ride. also the5th does not fit on the bighit, so I would go with the Avy or the DHX or send the stock Van RC shock to PUSH.

Well I just finished training and I only work on the floor selling bikes..... and a couple of parts....

And I do know alot about DH/FR but I still have to learn things, I know everything about Urban/Trials though....

And I'm only 15 and my first week of working... (yay! fun) :thumb:

I'm more into freeriding so BoXXer isn't really one of my options.....

yeh thats dangerous here. and ive hade my diablous for 2 months and not a color change in sight.

and also most people that refer to steep head angles dont refer to forks. it normally only applies to frames.
