That looks like about $1600
I was gonna make a snide joke that your 1600 was in Canadian dollars, therefore making it more in line with the other more reasonable price quotes in US dollars. Then I realized that they are worth the same. Sigh.

the guy is asking 1500, I felt it was a little high considering it is an older bike. But I wasn't sure how well the dhr held it's value and how many times it had been re-designed/improved since then.

Any DH bike beyond 5 years old is generally worth 900-2000, depending on wear and part spec. Top spec bikes are worth more, obvious wear is worth less, and like any used item, everything depends. A ****ty frame from 2002 with top spec components and zero use on them still can earn top dollar. A superb frame with 5 years of hard use, even with the best components, not worth much.

If you don't agree with his price, make him a lower offer and walk.

I agree with what you are saying, but having a decent starting point and knowing what kind of resale is out there is important as well.

haha, size shmall.

I'm looking at a Dob le pink or a bass now...something delightfully concentric and bad pedaling, for Happy hour and Jester...

Yeah but top of the line is tough, especially in the highly customizeable world of DH. If you can afford 3g's as a budget, you can afford to be picky. Cheaper used bikes are much easier....when you're budget is low, you take what you can get and overlook the junk.
