Recently I noticed when I pull up on my seat a little bit you can feel a little mechanical slop in it..
it's not a lot but you can feel and hear it.

before I go tightening everything down is there anything I should look for??

It is the rear shock bushing/reducer. Get some steel through pin style mount hardware (the RS Vivid ones are nice and will fit the Fox) and new bushings and you will have no more slop.

Dave is right. The 2-piece alum hardware on your shock is the most likely cause.
If you linkage needs some love as well, buy a rebuild kit from Turner. The old "axles" in the linkage are the perfect size to replace the hardware in your shock. Buy a new $2 bushing and things will last a lot longer.
