Hell yeah. Cant wait for this year. Is this a part of last years course or is this a new spot? Looks like a fun jump. =]

**Edit - I figured out where this was. Just never saw the jump from this angle.

Super stoked on this one. The rideSFO guys are super cool and the course is really fast and fun. Looking forward to this one!

Oh yeah, that jump followed by this berm.

D'oh! I stacked big time in the section right before the tight switchback. Check the new Hella-greasy trailer, I do a nice forward somersault there at the end of the clip. :disgust1:

So you riding DH in SC at all recently? We should meet up and ride as soon as I get my new rear spring. My current one is too soft and bottoms out on preload. I havent even really got to ride my new bike yet.

Do they provide shuttles to the top or do you have to push?

Shuttles are offered, but it all depends on the weather. There's a few steep pitches on the fire road that get really slippery. (Almost lost a truck down the mountain side last year.) The push isn't really too bad, just takes like 45 minutes.

Oh yeah, if it's wet and rainy, bring the PAM cooking spray. Keeps the mud off the tires and keeps the chain stays/tire clearances free of the clay mud.

Yo! Please note we changed the date for the 2nd race. We moved June 1-3 to June 9-10 because the Cal State Championship is June 3rd in Fontana. Also, note that each race is a two day event. Practice on Sat and Sun. Races are on Sunday.

    Correct dates are as follows:

    (Race 1) April 21-22, 2007 | (Race 2) June 9-10, 2007 | (Race 3) Sep 8-9, 2007

Also, we plan on using a Sandhill Racing's new pro timing system http://www.phoenix-sports.com

    More updates to come ...

Thanks to all for your support!!!

Just curious, if it is muddy can we shuttle ourselves up using pit bikes(xr50, xr80, crf150)?ie tie a rope from the back of the dirtbike to the bike. I saw some guys at the last fontana race doing it and it was a lot faster than taking the shuttle or pushing up the hill.

I may be out this year, the series is 2 races too many for me. I like my once a year race whether I need to or not. Plus after last years embarrassment, I don't know how much more my 40 year old body can take.

I really doubt you have to, that would go against how things work in most race series.

    But I could be wrong?

Since when are you required to go to all the races in a series? Make the ones you want to or are able to.

    talking about commitment??

it's a race, you go for fun and to improve your skills. does it really matter if you cant go to all 3? it's all fun and games. props to rideSFO for putting on the show, should be awesome

well, i doubt they will allow the actual course to be ridden. but have you ever been to carnegie? there is MILES of hills. if you have a buddie with a dirt bike you could persuade him to pull you to the top. thats why i bring my brother ;)

This is the CHDH! If you're racing all three races for podium spots, then there is a good chance that you're there for the wrong reasons. Racing is fun, but the atmosphere is what makes CHDH.

I may do it, I just started XC again, I really missed the climbing thing. We'll see about the race, I got to get my cardio up, as the pedaling sections are what killed me.

We will not have build days this year open to the public. The park doesn’t want the general public to be out there as it is the busy time of the year unless of course you are on a dirt bike. They are requiring insurance for each build day for us and they are letting us use a bobcat so we can build the course faster. I need to confirm but I believe they will not let anyone on a mountain bike up on the mountain till the weekend of the race.

You can take a dirt bike out there. The word from the rangers park is that you can't pedal around till the weekend of the race. Its the busy time of year so they probably don't want you out there with dirt bikes flying around ... maybe if its not busy during the week you can get up out there but its up to the rangers .... and at your own risk.

I think Connundrum1 is the only cat who hasn't seriously hurt himself yet. Not jinxing you or anything, but try not to mess up!

If the trail is as good as last years, this race will be awesome!

    Marc,

I'd roll with ya. The usual gang (you know who) thinks that the CHDH is stupid and since they are so closed minded, I'm limiting my time with them this year. They think that they only should go to norbas blah blah blah........ I talked to Bones and I know you've heard my gripes..........

Maybe we could get Bones off his butt and do it too.

As soon as I am healed brah. Prolly next month-around valentines or so I should be ready to go. Take it easy on me though.
and if your buddies think NoBras are better than this race, i can see why you would be limiting time with them. Backarsewards. I love this race. So fast...I love it.
