Two age brackets, young & fast and old & slow.

Sadly, I fall into the latter category, lol

wasnt your crash because someone moved the tape on the course?
Heh - nope.

My crash was because:

1.) I didn't take enough time to familiarize myself with the course (was running at 90% race speed after only my 3rd or 4th practice run)

2.) Was WAY too relaxed. Instead of being relaxed but focused I was just relaxed. Instead of hearing the normal music in my head like "Green Hell" by the Misfits or "Battery" by Metallica I heard "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong... just to give you an idea of where my head was.

Hey, I thought you weren't going to race anymore?

Couldn't keep away, huh? :clapping:
...wow did I say that - you must be thinking of someone else.

Yep - couldn't stay away. BUT, my attitude and awareness are MUCH different. More course-walking, more slow-speed practice runs until I'm comfy, no rushing my practice runs, and lots of coffee / Slayer.
