There are a few places out here that you can get it done with climbing shoes.....pretty common I'm sure. I don't know why you couldn't get it done with 'normal' shoes since they're likely to be getting soles from 5.10 anyway. Call a climbing shop and see what they say.

i wear shimano dx shoes with flats - haven't noticed any slippiness yet but they're new and my pedals have long pins. good to know i can get them resoled.
