Here you go, re-uploaded to Photobucket.

Does it make me a bike geek I joined Rotorburn from California just to see that pic? :D

EDIT - not mine, rather woffa04's - his pic isn't viewable to everyone.

That's pretty sweet. Wish mine were ready to ride. Still waiting for a few parts to show up though. Maybe by next weekend...

I wanted something a little different, and since it's getting Saint brakes, rear d, cranks, and shifter, I thought going gold might be kinda cool. Added a Twenty6 stem, bar ends and pedals just to make it pop a bit more without getting too pimped out. I mounted the calipers, der., levers and shifter tonight. Just waiting for tires, rotors, and chainguide to show so I can finish her off.

Anyone got one of these properly muddy yet? Was behind one in the lift line yesterday and noticed there's basically a huge, rearwards-facing basket around the shock and linkage area. Curious to see if it tends to fill up and create problems.

nah, it hasnt been too big of a issue. the gap b/w the swingarm and seattube/"shock cage" is pretty small. thankfully there hasnt been too much crap getting in there for me.

i do take my shock off to clean around the bike tho, so if someone was lazy, it could be a problem

i havent figured out how to take the swingarm off though. ive really only just briefly tried, but itll be nice to clean the entire bike if i had to

Nothing a little ghetto fender won't fix. It would be nice if someone made a fender like the ones for the V-10 that stuck slightly up above the cross brace. Althoughn this seems to keep most of the mud out.

I just finished bagging my Revolt for 4 days at Silverstar and Sun Peaks. It loves the rough stuff if you ride it fast; the more aggresive your riding style is the more you will like this bike. Coming off a Sunday the Revolt feels a lot less flimsy, pedals exceptionally well, its easy to get off the ground and feels stable at speed.

I'm running a flip chip steep, the other slack and the head tube slack. I tried everything slacked out but I was scraping pedals in the rocks and on stumps. I set up the RC4 pretty much as per the settings dw listed a few pages back. I only added a slight amount of bottom out (1/8-1/4 turn) for harsh landings.

The paint is holding up well and I have only pulled apart the linkage once to grease everything. This is definitey a bike I would recommend for guys who like something reasonably light, tough and adjustable. :monkeydance:

All that we've had here on the East Coast is mud this year! I've got about 15 total days of mud DH on my Revolt and so far so good. There's no real major collection that happens, but it's not the easiest to get 100% sparkly after a good day of riding. I usually take the shock out when I get home and clean it with a brush / simple green. It takes about 10 minutes but it's worth it in my opinion.

how do you work the swingarm off? ive taken the main pivot bolts out and just briefly tried to take the swingarm off, but couldnt i tried for a minute or so and just put everything back together.

Not to stir anything up but we're getting a few reports this side of the pond of these not standing up too well in whistler? Cracking at the seatube, then when that was reinforced creasing the downtube instead? Someone fancy putting my mind at rest.. I really don't want to take it off my list of possibles for 2010 but if the general impression here is they're all cracking (You can thank the Internet) then selling it will be impossible.

I've heard of ONE cracking at the seat tube before the brace was added. The ensuing story of customer service from the Evil boys, and the speed with which the brace was incorperated into the next production run is enough to have kept the Revolt right at the top of my list of frames to consider for next year.

That's very good to hear, as long as the brace has been thoroughly thought out and not just slapped on! But there is also something about a rider receiving an already cracked frame for warranty replacement? (This appears to be coming from the people who ride with the guy by the way, not a friend of a friend of a friend etc). I would usually stay out of such forum banter but my potentially invested money is better on the cautious side.

So far I have 16 days at Whistler this summer and I think 12 of them are on my Revolt. I've done some damage to my rear rim and after a week straight of riding in the rain/mud/sand my glossy white isn't so glossy. There is one root on No Joke that I consistently catch on and something keeps scratching my downtube sticker right in front of the bottom bracket. I look my bike over well after every trip up there and so far the only damage is cosmetic.

I'll be racing this weekend and then back to Whistler for 5 more days of riding and I can report back after that.

The swingarm is pretty stiff so it's a tight fit but nothing a little tug couldn't remedy. I just took out the bolts and pulled the swingarm directly rearward.

Just wondering, ive heard a vast amount about issues with the suspension system and bucking? any input on this? it seems to be a seriously widespread issue here in the UK.

Funny how all of these issues are UK based only but no problems with any bikes that I have heard or seen in the US.

Tell your riders to turn down their rebound, problem solved.

Oh yeah. I pushed down on the seat of a revolt and I woke up in another county. Massive bucker. Buyer beware.

(damn the $hit you can read on da internetz.)

Rufus, i wouldnt be posting this if it was as simple as that, from what im hearing the suspension design is extremely erratic, all i asked was for some input for the problem.

I wouldn't call it erratic as much as I would say that the bike is very neutral. The first day that I rode mine at Whistler I noticed that I'd hit the same jump (the second on Heart of Darkness, I know it well) and end up landing nose heavy sometimes, tail heavy sometimes, and just right sometimes. The bike seems to be more sensitive to body position on take off then the 7point I was coming off of. I wouldn't say that it is erratic as much as it isn't as forgiving of an erratic rider. It just wants to be ridden hard and rewards a good and aggressive rider more for it.

The same centralized mass traits that make it a bit more challenging on jumps improves it in the rough as it reacts better and rotates around the bottom bracket more. I find it reacts very well to a good solid pump into the transition of a take off and I have more problems if I just go dead sailor off of stuff.

As RUFUS said though, you can always turn in the rebound but then it gets a bit dead. The other issue that might be catching people off is the noticeable break in for the bushings. After several laps in the bike park I turned my damper adjusters in two clicks to slow things down and still felt the bike was breaking in for 2 more days. Strange to think of a bike as breaking in, it's not like it's a pair of shoes.

That is definitely one of the more ridiculous things that I've read on the internet recently.

You should definitely click the credibility meter WAY down for anyone that seriously suggests this. Even the Revolt is not immune to a rider who has no idea how to tune his or her damper.

i thought my Sunday rode awesome, the revolt is like climbing into the cockpit of a stripped out bentley continental GT. fast, smooth and a sexy girl.

Im a Clydesdale and i've ridden the **** out of this bike (i have the non braced frame as well and no problems at all yet. **** I hit a tree full speed and ripped the seatpost in half leaving half of it in the seat tube the other half on the ground. If that didnt crack the frame I doubt anything would.

bravo dave, kevin, todd and gabe fantastic bike you boys have created!

i have loaned my bike out to at least a dozen or more people (all who own very nice bikes)... every one came back saying the suspension and geometry was spot on.

A few of them now own Evil's, and more than a few people have already asked to buy my used frame at the end of the season.

learn how to set up your suspension before posting gibberish on the internet:thumb:

i own one of the first frames made an probably have more time on mine than just about anyone, and it has been ridden hard on some gnarly trails and race tracks for the last 4 months straight... no issues

I heard someone say the same thing the other day. Apparently something to do with the amount of rate change ? Interesting but not definitive I'm sure.
