Couple things:

1. When I watch MPORA vids, I always let the ad roll at the start and close out the ad that pops up. I've always thought to myself it was paying for my free vid, so I thought it would cost MPORA if I shut it off every time.

2. Shake up in qualies. There are some real smart riders in the Santa Cruz camp not worried about points, but the win. My guess is off what Stanbridge said. He said the corners and holes would be real blown come finals.

If you're Minnarr/Peat and have a big enough lead over the next spot down to skip the qualifying points, you can qualify outside top 60, give a spot to an up and comer...and still get to come down earlier when the course is less blown out and tacky using the Top 20 automatic bid.

didn't hill once qualify low so he could hang out in the hot seat for a while? or am i crazy?

minnaar was only 151 pts ahead of gee in the overall coming into this race. i really doubt greg is not going for every pt he can.

also : "in all the years I've been racing, I don't think I've ever had such a terrible quali..... Looking forward to another day ;)"

EDIT - sniped...maybe Greg was worried about having too much anti-squat.

It would surprise me too honestly, but who knows. Either they both stacked it up, or decided since the overall points comp is already over, they'd just play it safe and give'er on Sunday.

On a side note, I hope Bryceland got some real shoes for this race (although they look to be same in the vid piece I saw).

Is it just me, or is anybody else having a difficult time understanding ANYTHING that Danny Hart says in interviews?! Haha.....

Guys used to play crazy games with qualifying runs until points were added for those runs, but that may have been before Hill's WC appearance.

Hannah-- seeing that '01 Japan vid that Cesar posted where he's having sooo much fun, at what, 16, racing for Global? That was killer.

The thing is, he did well at Whistler & Colorado and I was stoked for him, hoping it would carry to a WC round, but negative.
