Yeah, with clipless it's probably a non issue...could just be a personal thing based on where my feet tend to nestle in....I just find it odd that they would leave any square edged surfaces on a crankarm like that...other than that the cranks were sick...

As Chris mentioned, the idea behind the rims is to be as strong as aluminum and approaching carbon weight, at a fraction of the cost.

e13 has a history of putting out nothing but stellar products. Honestly I can't remember the last time they put out something sketchy or silly. I am more than willing to bet those wheels are going to kick all kinds of ass. Also the pricing is MSRP, so they will be cheaper in stores no doubt.

IIRC the XTR rims were (or maybe still are) scandium.

in know the m975 wheels were scandium. those wheels were pretty strong too. the rims were stiff enough that they often popped the good 15-17-15g double nippled straight pull spokes, but those rims could take some pretty major abuse.

que me up for ordering a set of those trail wheels the minute they are available.

Yup - this is why e13 gets my vote! They know their stuff and do a damn good job.

They dont actually look that thick. Those vectors are not showing it well. I will try and get some shots next to the 26 pedals sometime soon. The pins are over an inch long! AHAHAHAHAH

Getting a set of the hubs to build up a set of 29er wheels to get them even stiffer

Got some Mavic SLR Crossmaxx 29ers my frame flexes before these do and I'm 200lbs, dam wheels are so stiff its a ball busting 29er ride, sort of wish for some softer wheels for more comfort but hell they roll fast too so no gain without pain right.

Norbar: I like your thinking those Easton Havoc are awesome wheels and light for DH set, I may yet be persuaded away from my Hadley fav rim build sets in future by those Havoc's.

Interesting.. so they list all the single ringle guides that were 32-36T compatible as 33-36T, I guess they're trying to steer everyone to the 32T-specific SRS+ for 32T setups? I doubt they would re-design all the 32-36T stuff to only work with 33-36T, so maybe just a 'marketing' change?

I doubt that. It's good for the local trails but for the hairy ones even on super grip pedals you need some stealth rubber.

I'm also not a fan of proprietary pins. They look good but I'm not sold yet.
