It's just insane to me the concept of coaches being let go because results didn't pan out.

Not a huge follower of stick and ball sports, but It seems like this type of behavior is partially to appease the hordes of angry fans who want heads to roll, but in DH?

It's not like you can realistically do everything you need in order to turn around a team in one season. To me, it looks like EC was mid-turn and got axed, which is a shame.

Obviously the results speak for themselves, and I hope EC lands on his feet quickly - which I imagine he will. But again, this is the manic company that was handed the whole 650 marketing bonanza on a silver platter, but stubbornly stuck its head in the sand until market forces finally made them change their position. It's essentially like the crazy hot girlfriend - you really never know what fvck she's going to do or why she acts the way she does. May make you dinner in her skivvies, or burn down your house.

ive always found it funny that the coaches are the first to go when a team is stinking up the field week in and week out and its never the players. teams wouldnt want to admit that their multi million dollar player is sh!t (cough cough Cutler)

Just my opinion but it's pretty unprofessional to make negative comments about an employer, especially when you're talking about contract negotiations. Since this is the rumors thread I'll tell the EC rumor that I heard from riders who claimed to be in the know. They said that Gwin felt that EC favored Troy at Specialized and he wanted EC to go. As much as the Pinkbike article made the team sound happy and harmonious this summer, did anyone ever see Gwin and Troy practicing together? I never did. It seemed like one was always on the lift while the other rode. To me that observation makes it seem like a plausible rumor. No hate here, just telling you the rumor I heard.
