Word on the street is that everyone who comes into contact with Cruz hates him.
http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2013/09/23/ted-cruz-only-wanted-study-buddies-from-princeton-harvard-and-yale

At Harvard Law School, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, would only study with pals from other Ivy elites.

"He said he didn't want anybody from 'minor Ivies' like Penn or Brown," law-school roommate Damon Watson told GQ Magazine.
I draw the line at Penn. Brown is ok by me. :D

I find the whole idea of ivy's to be insufferable, more so the 'minors'. Any former or current UVA student I meet who refers to UVA as a public Ivy gets the douche tag applied.
chances are they like the dave matthews band anyway.

Dammit.

Carly Fiorina is suspending her presidential campaign, she announced today.

"While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them," Fiorina wrote in a statement released today.

where the trails are
After listening to both Sanders' and Trump's speeches last night, I was honestly shocked at the contrast between the two; one humble and focused, mostly on what's next ... and the other self congratulatory, bloated and mostly empty of any real substance. The first had Sanders barely able to be heard over a cheering crowd and the second met with shouts and clapping that quickly faded as if to say "wait, that's it?" after every hollow insincere thing that Trump said.

How do Trump supporters not get it? Maybe they're all normal and I'm the crazy one??

Goddamn that is some bullshit. Why are we still using this antiquated crap? This delegate crap and Daylight savings need to be left back in the 18th century where they came from.

Because democracy is an illusion, always has been.

Last think you would want to do is put democracy into the hands of the people, that'd be communist.

nothing new...not surprised....and in other news....the revolution is dead...the congressional black caucus is backing clinton....sheep do what their told.

Unfortunately, this.

For a moment I (naively) thought the momentum and media attention of the past few weeks might change things up for Bernie in a place like SC, but it doesn't sound like he's got a prayer. I did read an article which said part of that is his own doing in that he hasn't actively courted their favor until like right now, but still, its ridiculous that people think the donkey witch is going to go to bat for them.

Congessional Black Caucus PAC. The senator from CA that leads the actual caucus made a very distinct point that they are VERY different things and not the same.

i'm sure he likes to believe that.

john lewis is like ef hutton...

john lewis is not impressed with bernie's civil rights street cred.....

"I never saw him. I never met him," Lewis told reporters. "I chaired the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee for three years from 1963 to 1966. I was involved in the sit-ins, the Freedom Rides, the March on Washington, the march from Selma (Alabama) to Montgomery and directed the voter education project for six years. I met Hillary Clinton, I met President Clinton."
and mr. butterfield....

In a swipe at Sanders, Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-N.C., chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said the country needs a president "who doesn't simply campaign and promise wonderful things, things that are politically impossible to achieve."

The black political establishment isn't going to bite the hand that feeds them/makes them relevant. I heard those comments and they were clearly spoon fed by the Clinton's and recited with rubio-esque robotic conviction.

However, their relevance to the public isnt guaranteed. I wouldn't be surprised to see the black community look elsewhere for leadership as evidenced in this election to date.

Why in the f*ck did she cite Kissenger as somebody that she takes advice from? Is he not one of the most hated figures in American histroy due to his extension of the Vietnamese war so Nixon could get elected and instigated wars in Cambodia and the middle-east?

Also, I love Bernie's comment while she was laying into him about being against Obama on occasions: "At least I never ran against him..."

Hillary is an insufferable cunt.
Listening to her makes my skin crawl in the same manner as Cruz.

Riding the baggage carousel.
Hillary is an insufferable cunt.
Priorities USA Action, the main super PAC supporting Clinton, unleashed a $5 million infusion of spending on her behalf, upending plans to hold its fire until the general election. The move calls attention to growing concern within the party’s leadership that her campaign may be in trouble, and it underscores how crucial several upcoming contests have become in Clinton’s battle with Sanders, a senator from Vermont.
In addition, the Democratic National Committee announced that it had rolled back restrictions introduced by presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008 that banned donations from federal lobbyists and political action committees.

Both actions offer the potential for financial benefit for Clinton.
The DNC is at this point, clearly shilling for hillary.

I have no idea where I am
The more I pay attention to this election, the more dismayed I become. The whole thing has turned into a circus sideshow made up of no talent hack performers. The only one who seems like they're not a total scumbag is a geriatric revolutionary, whom I am leery of.

Today I'm thinking about just tuning out the whole event as much as possible until Nov and vote against the Repubs. Can't stand Old Pant Suit, don't fully trust old farts who want to tear down the whole system and start over. Mind you some of Bernie's ideas probably should come to fruition, but I fear it's too much to soon. And the Republicans are completely insane and backwards.

I have watched Bernie from up close from decades. Don't get hung up on his expressed ideals - he has proved to be a pragmatist who unites people to get stuff done, both as mayor of Burlington and in the U.S. legislature. I think he has something called wisdom.

He has ideals, but is not an idealist.

I'll take your word for it, but it's more his revolutionist persona that might make him unelectable to a lot of voters over 40. Younger people, on the other hand, are drawn to him for this.

51.5 here.
Granted from America's hat...

Bernie is a bit of a breath of fresh air.
He is not polished till he shines by the marketing droogs.
He does appear a bit wild haired at times - rumpled even.
Kinda like most people I know look after a hard days.
Guess it makes him more real - less cardboard cut out.

But what do I know, I'm just a commie Kanuk.
