Cilantro and dill in the front "ornamental" walkway beds.

The mixed green beds.

The main plot.

The rest is all spread around here and there mixed in with groundcover and shrubbery - has worked well in the past. Tomatoes, basil and other herbs, more zucchini, strawberries that keep spreading.

Frost report 2.0; watermelon plant appears to be half dead, big tomato plant is turning crispy, second basil plant appears to be dying.

Le sigh.

Also found this. Ugh.

But the cilantro has freaking exploded.

We did jack shot last year and our beds show it. I am trying to get them cleared out, but it is not motivating.

Anyone need some cilantro??

The start of a cute lil one :drag:

That is very cool. Perhaps a stupid question, how do you tie the wood into those concrete blocks?
You don't. Just set them in, there's a channel in the middle. The blocks have a hole in the center and you hammer a piece of rebar into the ground through it.

Sooooooon

This 'mater plant got wiped out by frost, lost all of its leaves except for the top few, but is bouncing back lovely. Lots of new growth on the bare bottom. Thought it was a goner...

The bud needs to hurry up.

All my plants seem to have made it through the heat wave

My pepper plants are growing like crazy and still throwing out flowers. I bet if I look hard enough I can find a few peppers starting to grow.

Frig, something has started to chomp down on various plants.

Any tips?

Whatever it is, is only doing it on the eggplant, water melon and the pot plant.

Flea Beatle damage. Still need to look into getting rid of them; there aren't a lot of them so I just keep flicking them into the grass.

That looks amazing. I planted 8 new strawberry plants this weekend. Two location where they in beds where they can spread and grow freely so I hope they will multiply and also be a nice ground cover. Also need to find out if the birds will eat them. In the back year they have so far left them alone.

We lose a lot of them (i estimate roughly 1/3) to squirrels and chipmunks - but they end up leaving the rest of the garden alone. Acceptable trade off for me.

Wife likes her roses in there - I'd be happy to just continue to let them go nuts and tear out everything else around the deck.

That railing on the deck also takes a lot of the view of the garden?

I mix in lavender with my roses. Makes it more wild and they are good strong plants too. I got a lot of roses with the house that I will try to move as they are built into the deck and take the view away from the rest of the garden. Wife like the for cut flowers.
