It'll be interesting to see if Scott subsequently announces a new elite DH female rider to replace Marine. Given the way the new points structure works, it seems critical for teams to field one. The women's points are worth the same as the men's in terms of team rankings thus being able to race.

Benoit's 1059 points put the Scott team at 1617 points, at position / rank #10* right behind the Syndicate and ahead of frameworks.

don't forget, points for junior riders count the same too.

*still some unconfirmed riders with a good number of points, so this will likely change, but i'd wager scott is fairly safe right now.

I was mostly thinking that as a team manager, it's kinda risky to put all your eggs in 1 basket by relying on 1 high points rider, in case they get injured or have a poor year. It feels like they're kind of going to have to do something similar to Fantasy where it makes a lot of sense to grab talented juniors and women for relatively low cost, in order to guarantee them a slot at the races.

If Yeti does pick up Cami as rumored, they will shoot way up in the rankings also and mix things up. Loris to Commencal won't really change much since they're so high already. Trek is rumored to pick up a couple but also are also supposedly on a tighter budget, so they're probably thinking along the Fantasy line. Pivot probably is also given that BK is actively hunting for points in the offseason and lost the Jewett brothers.

Problem is Jr's earn bugger all points for a win, so when they move up from Jr's to elite they drop a teams ranking down as they don't have many points to bring with them.
It doesn't make it attractive to a team to take on a rider moving up to elite for the 1st time.
Erice is the classic example of this, had a killer of a season, won the overall, won the world champs, yet her total points is about a third of Vali's and only just barely more than Cami's even though Cami was out for almost the whole season.

What's that bike he's on now? He pulled out a bike in the dark from behind the special-ed. It looks like a Special, but different sponsors name on it.
He’s being supported by a local bike and moto shop, who are also looking after his boys for their moto racing.

Not sure if the foes thing is still happening, it sounds like the team support just want there

Good timing for an external brand like Gates to break in, with the cost of running a team this year going through the roof, I'd wager Gates is throwing more coin around for a team than Shimano/Sram/TRP

I didn't know about Shimano.
Neither of them will be used on a world cup bike, isn't it?

Gamux and Zerode run Pinion since earlier. Intense's proto is on Pinion too.
Athertons looks like Pinion, isn't it?

:busted: Gates 100K prize is open to the first man or WOMAN to win a WC on their belt right?
Explains a lot about Reece's confidence, self prediction of world domination and current haircut.
Dude won't even need to change his name.

His interview on Vital mentioned his disappointment in longtime sponsors literally ghosting him. Not even returning his calls?
The bicycle industry is an embarrassment.

That Gates bounty is brilliant hey. So many teams giving it a crack this year. Smart marketing move.

Be cool if more companies/rich individuals/etc got together and put a bounty on. I remember Vital did one for someone to podium wearing shorts until someone pointed out they're currently against the rules.

I vote for a flat pedal bounty and a 27.5 front wheel bounty. Make DH sketchy again.

And out of nowhere Reece Wilson has assembled a stellar team with Gamux.

If he can stay healthy he’s a podium threat, and heather wilson will be top billed for women’s juniors.
