Hey guys, I have a 2004 Banshee Scratch complete with the FUNN cranks. I wanted some 177.5's instead of the stock 170's so I ordered em up from GreasyComb Distribution. While replacing I found that the spindle & bolts were stripped. I ordered a new set of hadware and spindle. While replacing those I found that after only 8 - 10 hours, the cartridge bearings were indexed something terrible. I ordered a new set from GreasyComb, but they were the euro 4 bearing style. I sent them back and found out that FUNN doesn't offer a BMX bottom bracket and they don't have anything that'll work. I took my spindle to the local bike shop with my best-friend / bike mechanic (ex-employee) to order a Profile bottom bracket. When he mic'd the spindle, it showed 20mm dead on. Sure enough, the 19mm Profile stuff was too small. We searched and searched the catalogs and finally found an answer.

Apparently FUNN and Gusset are one and the same. FUNN is the MTB line, and Gusset is the BMX line. FUNN makes the Hooka cranks and Gusset makes the Pigmy cranks. They are identical except the Gusset arms are missing the FUNN laser etching on the crank arm, and they have a BMX bottom bracket instead. Both cranks use a 19mm spindle, tapered to 20mm.

Does anyone know where I can get a bullet-proof 20mm bottom bracket or where to find a Gusset distributor in the US who imports this stuff? Thanks a million!!!

I think you'll find that a lot of products are identical with different names stamped on them. Gusset makes Euro b/b too,

Check www.danscomp.com call their tech line, I'm sure they will be able to help you, if not your probably out of luck.

good luck with that
