Well I know that this should be a post for the DJ forum but all the n00bs hang out there :D so its here. The hardtail is getting a makeover in preperation for my new DH bike, so I'm looking to trick it out ricer style... In all seriousness I need some dirt/street tires, 24", that are fast rolling but also do fine in loose DJs... Hookworms are out then I suppose. I would also like something fairly light (though it isn't too much of a big deal) and pinch flat resistant. Prefered size is something around a 2.3-2.4, tell me what works.

Kenda K-Rad -- light, fast rolling, good dirt jump and street tread pattern. Probably less suited to looser stuff than hardpack. Poor pinchflat protection -- nothing like a DH tire casing.

Arrow Launch -- Exactly what I said about K-Rads.

Arrow Blitz -- Better suited to looser dj's and general offroad, mtb-style side knobs. Not so hot on the p-flats either.

Maxxis Holy Rollers -- looks like a similar tread pattern to the krads and launches. No idea about the sidewalls. Not out yet as far as I can tell.

My favorite tire for this stuff is an ancient Arrow Prime Wide with the DH casing, which is nearly impossible to p-flat. The center knobs are all but worn completely off, so it feels like a semi-slick on the street, but has big-ass side knobs that allow cornering in nasty berms or other loose stuff.

Thanks DBR... thats what I was looking for. Seems like I'll hafta compromise on the pinchflat front- I know hookworms are good in that regard but they are heavy and not too good for DJ... Anyone run a grippier front tire with a rear hookworm?
