hello,

I want to use a 24 pornking for DH. Is this possible? I have a Monster T in my shed and was wondering if it was possible to do so. My Monster T is from 2000 and has about 175mm of travel. If the Pornking is not good for dh-ing, then I would like to ask if it is a good idea to put a Monster T in it. I am new, tried the search but this isnt on the forum yet

Thanks :dancing:

Well, anything can go downhill, if that's what you mean by DH. If you mean DH racing, then it's far from the best choice.

It'll be a burly hardtail with a monster on it (see Sticky: Burly Hardtails) and will take plenty of abuse, and be fun to screw around on. But I don't think it's going to be the best choice for one specific type of riding.

But if it's what you have, ride it!

Ah ok, then it will be burly! I dont care.
I was just interested if the Pornking can handle that kind of fork and what is possible if it is inserted, thanks.

It will be possible to go 200 miles an hour and to land 100 foot drops to flat. Make sure you install Gazzalodi 3.0's front and rear on 24inch, 48 spoke wheels, too. Don't forget the profile cranks and 4130 cromo handlebars, if you don't the world will laugh at you and call you a Momma's Boy. ;)

Seat angle mainly. It was designed as a slalom/4x bike as opposed to the Toy which is more of a street/all around ht.

Oh...well Im sorry, these brakes dont show that when I installed them. Some country produced these things like that for people who drive motorcycles and ehmm, that country would be stupid right? Guess what? I drive a motorcycle and the brake on my PK is a Hayes. :nopity:

the slack angles will make the bike more stable on the downhills, but the cornering, etc. will suffer on tight, twisty switchbacks and stuff like that.

I rode a hard tail DH for 2 seasons until I was able to get a FS. Let me tell you it's HARD, especially on your back. At least you have A Monster and disc brakes. You just have to worry about your rear going over your head on flowy drops to tranny.

I too have been racing a HT for DH for the past few years and it kicks a$$. It is not because I can't afford a FS but because I enjoy it. Build that thing up and point it down hill.

IMO, for its intended use, the monster suits the bike excellent. personally, i might like a monster on my ht at some time. if you can ride it like it is, hit it up :thumb:
