I use 28-13 with 24" wheels, and it feels just about perfect. I think 25-13 would be a bit to easy for a 26" or 24". On a 20" It would diffinately be way to easy.

(Number of front chain ring teeth / number of rear cog teeth ) x Wheel size in inches = Standard ratio.

Lower numbers mean easier to pedal.

Most BMXers like around 45-55.

(25/13)*20= 38.4 which is a pretty low gear.

it would be for a 20 inch tire.. so would 25 front and 13 rear be a bad set up you think?
?

if it is for a bmx bike, the ratio is really low (as the post above just clearly explained)

Unless you plan on useing your bmx bike to climb hills, I think it would be a poor ratio to run.

on my 20" i run 36x13 ratio, which is about the norm you want to aim for, unless you are going for an easier gear (park & ramps) or a harder gear (racing). typically you want to maintain as close to a 2.5~2.7 ratio as possible.
