Do you think it would be possible to stretch a heavy duty 26in tube on a 29er rim? I had my first incident with the new bike which resulted in a blown tube and my LBS only carries HD tubes for 26ers.

I've done it a few times - it can be done, but it sort of a PITA in my opinion.
Check out www.bike29.com - they have a great deal on 29er tubes - 10 tubes for $20.00 - can't beat that with a stick!
