Just reserving the headline for future awesomeness. Considering what they have to work with now, Vick at a bargain might not be a back choice.

Is he going to be paid rookie minimum or is he going to get credit for the seasons he has already played? There is a big difference in pay depending on how long a player has been in the league. Either way, 300k+ ain't too shabby for coming straight outta the pen.

Well, I would think Rookie min. would be it, minus restitution. Considering he has to work as a day laborer for a while before he could even be considered for reinstatement, I don't see why they would give him credit for the prior experience.

my thoughts exactly. i graduated with 2 people in high school that made it to the NFL making league minimum...not too shabby.

all of Vick's salary should go to the ASPCA

Some things are just best left unforgiven. I don't know who the NFL expects to take them seriously, they're getting as bad as the Catholic church. Pretty soon players will be able to get forgiven before they even commit the act. :p

He committed a crime, he was convicted, and he did his time. He has every right to pursue any career he chooses now that he has paid his debt.

Indeed. The man has a right to make a living now, and he does have a special skill like it or not.

I hate the man, but he should be allowed to play ball.

He has a right to pursue employment. Whether anyone chooses to hire him (and all the baggage he brings) is their business..
Agreed.

I'd like to see him return to football and do well. It'd make a good story. He's paid a greater price than most people ever would.
