Hey Guy's

i'm looking for a new wheelset for my Yeti 4x, i have been thinking either some DEE MAX, or building up a set of CK or Profile hubs to some nice rims??? I'm genrally pretty hard on wheels but rim's more so than hubs. I have split AtomLab DHR's, and flat spot 321's Any ideas ? I've been told maybe some 521's (dont know the new name?)?? I woudlent mind it to still be reasonably light?? Ohh and if they come in silver even better.

Yeah, I think the 721s (old 521s) would be cool and you can get them in silver. Oh BTW, you suck for having a Yeti 4x. I am super envious. I'd love to have one to go with my DH9, DJ, and ASX. ;) :D

I'm getting my trail pimps today!
Gonna build 'em up with Saint Hubs.

D@mn Tim, And this is your 4x bike? You are really hard on rims if you split some AtomLab DHR's I thought those were really burly.

Think about these three words

Light, Strong, Cheap

Now pick two because they ain't any rims out there that are all three.

not true...

the Azonic Outlaw wheelset is all three and a bag of chips to boot....

i am also brutal on wheelsets, i've got them on my mono and i do a lot of seated (read: lazy) riding while DHing and let the bike take the abuse.....
they have held up to anything you could imagine for over a year now, 40'+ doubles, massive drops, some even to sketcky landings, with nary a complaint.... only an initial re-tensioning after i got them, never been untrue or dinged up.....

Sorry, I'm Canadian ..sorry...
I don't know why, but I've had really good luck with the Sun Singletrack and Doubletrack. I have 2 sets of Singletracks (36 spoke on the DH bike, 32 spoke on the DJ/play bike) and a set of Doubles on a "Freeride" hardtail. All of them have held true, and I don't land softly. I have earned a small flatspot on the DH bike, but not enough to unsettle the ride or tire. My vote is for Singletracks, light, cheap(score 2 points) and resonable strong IMO.

Fo sho! Those wheels are awesome. Like WCH said, plenty strong, not too heavy (nothing like Atomblabs/Doublewides), and they are really cheap. I saw em online for something like 300 dollars for a complete wheelset. Also, the hubs are convertable from 20mm/QR front and 12mm/QR rear, which is nice.

compatible with shimano rotors???
You can get adapters for 6 bolt hubs to shimano rotors. (I'm pretty sure anyways)

I second the outlaw wheelset. I just bought 2 pairs. One for the DH bike and one for the HT. They are really nice for the price. We'll see how well they hold up to my habit of 50/50 the dirt jumps.

Hey guy's thanks for your input.... yes it's my Yeti 4x it was a proto from last year... I am talking Chirs King and Profile hubs here so money isnt really the big problem, i will be selling my DH9 soon so this will be my only bike and i want it to be nice. It's already got a Thompson Stem and Post, MRP, CK headset, hope mini mono's, and 04 Firefly's, So wheels are the next upgrade At the moment i'm leaning towards the Chris Kings and 721's , but will the CK hubs stand up to Dirt Jumping?? and all the rigors that go along with it.
