I have a pair of Vans Warners that I was so stoked to get, but they're kind of a let-down. One of the reasons I dig shoes like this is the possiblity of them being somewhat casual. The Vans don't completely hide the cleat so it feels like you're doing the "roadie waddle."

My 661 Filters I used for 3 seasons were flush. I could actually spend a day on my feet on them and the cleat wouldn't cause any issues. If you want a super stiff sole though, get the Warners.

Yes, the Vans have a super stiff sole. I just got back from a ride with a lot of early morning hiking and my feet hurt. Until today I've only used them on lift access runs. I may stick to flats when I know I have a lot of hiking to do.
