I switched to a steel spring on my m1 because I couldn't afford a TI spring for 150lbs more in a spring. It was $35 from go-ride.com I think.

You can tell the difference. The coils are much tighter. Weight wise it was 4lbs (the shock, hardware, and steel spring) so whatever they weigh with a ti spring, subtract and you got your weight savings. I am guessing half a pound to a full pound. It sucks but it saves a hell of a lot of money.

Just an idea on weights for ya

It's pretty much a matter of: where else can you drop 1/2 to 3/4 of a pound worth of weight without any performance sacrifice at all? Nowhere else, really.

Is that worth the huge amount of money? That's your call. But there's the reasoning for it. Theoretically, Ti reacts to bumps quicker than steel but I'm not sure that's something you can really feel on the bike, it's more of a "In the lab, we noticed..." thing.

If you go to SC's website you can use their "color" picker build a bike thing. It has the option to select the steal or ti spring. You gotta do the math though!:D
