Marzocchi always said no, because they incorporate the negative springs within the cartridge in the 2002 and later models. But in theory if you add a negative spring on the outside and use a shorter main spring you should be able to reduce teh travel. I am planning on doing it on my 2003 Super T as well.
Hm, sounds interesting... I had read that the 2002 models had the negative spring in the cartridge, but wasn't sure about the 2003.
So taking a 1" negative spring and putting it below the cartridge... Does the Super-T cartridges have that little sleeve that the negative spring sits under on eg. a Z1. If it has, then it should work,.. in principle.
Does anyone have a picture of a Super-T cartridge?
I've been thinking a bit now... If the fork is lowered 1", then the negative spring in the cartridge, will never get into action. But that shouldn't matter, as a new one is mounted.
Where would you get 6" springs in the right diameter?
BUT i was told, that it is possible to reduce the 2003 junior to five inches. What this means for the super i really do not know, but i figured id throw that in the air.
But the '03 Super T doesn't need a reduction in travel. It doesn't have 7", only about 6.7 inches. I don't think that by reducing the travel by less than an inch will make much of a difference.
