If you really want to go with a bigger bike, go with a Reign X or something. And ride it at Pacifica. But ultimately, I still think a 7"-8" bike is a standard for Northstar.

A 5"-6", at most, is more than enough for anything at Demo, including SawPit.

That's up to you. I regularly do rides with 3k of climbing on a ~34lb Reign X without issue. I'm not nearly as fast on the climbs as I would be on a cross country bike, but I have a whole hell of a lot more fun on the way down.

Basically - if riding uphill fast is the most important thing to you, stick with what you have. Or if you find yourself always wishing you could bomb a rock garden faster or boost higher off a feature on the way down - get a bigger bike.

FYI - while you can ride a six inch bike at Northstar (I've done it plenty of times), an 8 inch bike feels a lot more at home there.
