Hi all,
After ardious searching thro' the old posts I couldn't find the relevant post so, a big cry of help to you all mech minded monkeys.
I'm trying to fit an 8" HFX9 to my MX Pro ETA fork. Unfortunately the adaptor appears to be too thick in cross section - 16mm where it meets the fork's ISIS mount. This pushes the caliper housing too far away from the rotor. The rear adaptor for a 6" rotor is 7mm. Unless Hayes does a thinner 8" adaptor, it looks like some material will have to be milled off as this is the only way I can see it fitting. The other obvious question is, will this severly compromise the brake's integrity? i.e. will the brake snap off when the going gets a bit hairy? Thank you.
