Is it possible to safely lift the dust seals/wipers on a 2007 888 with the fork assembled (eg, not require taking the lowers off.)????

I understand I would need to be extremely careful not to damage stanchions etc, but curious if it can be done. I would like to jam som Judy Butter under there, but dont feel like pulling the lowers off.

It can be done, if you only want the dust seals out and not the oil seals.

They sit pretty tight usually and you risk damaging them (especially the outer lip) if you were to attempt this.

I would say: Take the outers off.

If you are going to jam judybutter somewhere, it should go in the indentation of the oil seal primarily. Get a clean container and save your oil if you don't want to change it.

Funny - Easy as pie, always packed the grasso in during a rebuild, but never on an assembled fork.
