8inch Rotor Adapter for Fox 40 2011

I bought 203mm / 74mm / Front / 51mm / ISMMAF203PSA and for some reason its not working, can someone tell me the correct shimano adapter

historically, 40's use a 6" adapter, not an 8". dunno if they changed it for the new stuff, kinda doubt it.


yes, i know its weird. that's how mine is.

I think Fox has a direct mount, no adapter needed for 180 mm rotors so for a 203, you need an adapter that sizes up one rotor size i.e. a 160 to 180 post mount.

a 180mm direct mount?? why cant they just be normal and do a 203 direct mount?

lol wut.

the 40's only work with 8"/203mm rotors.

its not a direct mount, that would space the caliper too far out from the rotor and you wouldn't be able to get your wheel in.

Listen to JK. Just looked it up in the Fox Tech Center. And the entire Fox 40 line since inception carries this trait.

The Fox 40 uses a IS XC brake standard and is only usable with a 200-225mm rotor

Ah I see. I think it may be one the Rock Shox that has 180 post mount. The thought being that no one would use the fork with a 6 inch 160mm rotor but some would use a 180 and others a 203.
