Spotted 3 hawks today.

Saw 7 on the drive to/from Indiana, plus one maybe Kestrel, but not 100% about that one. Very cool.

Also saw a large flock of geese flying south today. Most of the water around here is frozen now. I always wonder about these late flyers, does the lead one at one point say "well Jerry, we fucked up this season...going to be a big push south".

It was another reason why I wanted a better commuter too. The back pack also gives you super sweaty back in the summer time which is a pain.
Heaver/larger payloads get the rear rack and pannier use.

I like the idea of nothing on the back of the bike, but it really makes it more functional overall. Can bring home 4-5 grocery bags worth of stuff.

Would ditch the rear rack stuff and keep the front basket if I could only keep one.

Get a cast boot and some sports tape. The weird looking gimp sandal will take the pressure off when you walk. Tape the broken toe to the one next to it. This was the treatment I received from an ER visit and have used to heal a few more broken toes over the years.
jammed/fractured my two middle ones this fall. nothing to do. now neither one really bends a lot...hrmf.
Saw a flock of robins flying around today...
saw a fox walking down the sidewalk while driving last night. there a a bunch around here. coyotes too.
