I'm going on a ski trip to Mammoth tomorrow, leaving from Santa Barbara at about 2pm. Normal route is 101 south to 128 east to 5 south to 14 north to 395 north to 203 west.
total distance: approx. 380 miles (or ~6 hours)
However, 101 and 150 (the alternate route) are both closed just south of Santa Barbara due to mudslides and flooding, so now we get to take a fun trip thru Bakersfield on our way to Mammoth.

166 east from Santa Maria to Bakersfield
99 north to 58 east
58 east from Bakersfield to Mojave
14 north from Mojave to 395 north
395 north to 203 west
total distance: approx. 500 miles (or ~9 hours)
