How exactly do you position your pedals, and should you grind on the right or left side when your bashguard is on the right?

Do truvativ bashguards (the black, not the clear ones) totally suck for this? If so is the e.13 the best or is there a better or cheaper alternative?

ride up to the ledge bunny hop up placing your front tire on the coping or ledge or whatever it is the n hit your rear brake. now at this time your crnaks should be poing down slightly if you ride right foot forward. if its on a downhill slope you will need to lean forward a bit otherwise you will loop out.

e13 is the best iv tried itsw like greased lightining

I've never attempted to grind a mountain bike, but I've done some sprockety stuff on my 20". I ride left foot forward, so this might not apply to you. I basically just bunnyhop up to the ledge, land smoothly with the front tire as close to coping as possible, and get the right pedal on the ledge. Whether or not the sprocket actually hits never really mattered for me, it was a grind without pegs that's easy to 180 out of. Sprocket/right pedal all pretty much hit the ledge, so it all seemed the same. To get out of the grind, just continue straight off the ledge or hop to the side. I always thought a pedal grind was more like an ice pick, with only the pedal on the ledge, no tire contact. Good luck, have fun, and don't break yerself.
