word in missoula is that he has been in utah filming with wayne goss...... what an odd combo. guess one of the shops here has his bikes in the shop, heard he is living in a house with the owners
Sure he did parts breaking...cause he couldn't make real stuff work. He's the only rider to need 14" of suspension travel...that's the only direction he took the sport, poor-ass suspension but LOTS OF IT. Just look where he brought Risse and Karpiel....
sorry to beat a dead horse but if he's so relevant he should still be riding. Guys like tomac, overend, and juarez can still get out there and compete with some of the best riders in the world.
I have known bender for a while know and he is a great guy. He is a bit reckless but has takena different aprouch to the sport know. He has been building a lot of bike park stuff around colorado and the north west. He came into the sport and did stuff no one thought was possible. While he may not have the best bike handleing there is no dout he did a lot for our sport. From a racer stand point he is not smooth skilled rider but from a freeride and progressive standpoint he is the grandfather of freeriding. And brought new life into our sport, he paved the way for many to follow. Not to say someone else wouldnt of but he did it first.
