A "real" Dirt Chicks story (my personal opinion only)

Apparently the original "Dirt Chicks" was probably the small family-oriented ATV/MX club who had the web site www.dirtchicks.com as early as August 2003. About a year later (16-Sep-04), the www.dirtchicksclothingcompany.com domain name was registered by the clothing company. I cannot confirm this personally, but I *hear* the clothing company actually sent cease and desist letters to the original DirtChicks group ordering them to stop using their own name. See this DirtChicks.com page mentioning the conflict from 3/24/05 on the web site archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20050324215956/http://www.dirtchicks.com/index.html

Due to a serious illness and death in the family, the DirtChicks.com club eventually stopped maintaining their web site and let their domain name registration expire, which was scooped up by an x-rated site.

There's a handful of mud hunnies who ride dirt bikes as well so I can see why 100-Oaks thought it might be of interest to some of us.
