strangely enough, this lawless region was on the brink of "stability" for the first time in almost 17 yrs when the islamists recently took over.

so which evil do we want there? the one that prevents wanton attacks & infighting, yet subjugates half the population & lives in the 7th century?

i know why we to a man should care, but why should western governments (from the POV of nat'l sovereignty)?
