now i'm waiting for the new and improved politically correct:

"I was artificially inseminated so my girlfriend and I could have a baby but we broke up so I killed it."

the crazy thing is that i'd get more public outrage by wearing my "straight pride" t-shirt than some 'lil tenney-bopper would by wearing a shirt that trivializes the killing of a human being.

our priorities are really skewed in this country.

I think it should be the couple's decision... and it should be made before they get to this point. If a couple can not decide on how to deal with the concequences of their action... then don't perform the action!!!

Would you be offended if I wore a "white pride" t-shirt?

no, i'd probably just laugh as you got your arse kicked.

proving my point....why should a "straight pride" t-shirt bring about more dissent than a "gay pride" shirt? so....you can only be proud if you're the "diverse" one? screw that!

"HEY EVERYBODY! CELEBRATE ME!! I'M DIFFERENT AND IF YOU DON'T AGREE YOU'RE A BIGGOT!! I KILLED MY BABY AND GOT AWAY WITH IT BECAUSE MY WOMANHOOD IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE BABY I MADE!! NA-NA-NAH-BOO-BOO!!"

Selfish facks! :nope:

Just wondering.

Personally, I think "**** Pride" anything shirts are stupid. I also think political bumper stickers are dumb.

But to be proud of something that is normal and mainstream is REALLY stupid.

Wearing a shirt that says "Straight Pride" is like wearing a shirt that says "Fat and Willfully Ignorant, I'm an American." Sure, it might be true for a lot of people, but it's a weird thing to be proud of.

here we go with the ignorant line. is that all you liberal can come up with? a catch all....if you don't agree you must be ignorant, un-enlightened or a biggot? i know more about the homosexual lifestyle than you can ever know...that is...unless you yourself are gay. i'm sure you remember my rantings about my own father being involved in the lifestyle....hell...i grew up in it....i guess i must be ignorant

you want to celebrate diversity...i want to celebrate traditional. did i say condemn diversity? no....i just don't celebrate it.

mark my words here and now......there will come a time here in the good 'ole US of A where, like canada, you will be persecuted for not "CELEBRATING diversity". heck...not even the equal rights race movement has that kind of power

Not to put you down, but you are assuming all homosexuals live the same lifestyle as your father and his aquaintainces? I've never really heard of anyone being 'persecuted' for not celebrating diversity in Canada either... Seems like a bit of a stretch.

1. you're missing the point on the ignorance part of my reply.

2. "The practical consequence of this ruling is that private citizens, you and I, individually or collectively, cannot spend our own money to buy meaningful tv, radio or newspaper advertisements to speak out on the same-sex marriage issue (pro or con) during the current election period. The gag law gives organized political parties a virtual monopoly on paid media advertising during the election writ period. (a monopoly paid for by our tax dollars!)"

read the whole article here that talks about the political "gag order" that bans any pro-family media in canada.

i guess the militant gay-left has done their homework by basing their propoganda strategies off of Hitler's "Mein-Kampf" (spelling?)

So wait, you say you know more about the Homosexual lifestyle than Silver (and presumably me) can ever know, having grown up with your Gay Father, right?

Because of this apparantly negative experience, you do not wish to 'Celebrate Diversity' - You instead wish to 'Celebrate Traditional' by which I assume you mean hetrosexual mariages.

I think you were annoyed with Silver because he said wearing a 'Straight Pride' T-shirt (the action of a celebrator of the hetrosexual such as yourself) was stupid and similar to declaring yourself to being a wilfully ignorant fat American - thus implying that you are a) wilfully ignorant and b) Fat. Am I right so far?

Therefore your response was that you were not ignorant of the gay lifestyle, and were in a position to judge it better than him because of your experience with your father.

I was simply trying to point out that perhalps your negative experience with your Father is not typical of all Gay relationships and social experiences and that maybe they are not all negative, and maybe if you knew more/other Gay people you would find that perhalps they are not all negative experiences, and that it is a positive thing that society now accepts them more freely than it did only ten years ago, that they play a positive role in the community and make positive contributions to society and the fact they no longer have to lie about and hide it, and are freer than they have ever been (US being the land of the Free and all that) is a fact worth celebrating?

Or do you not agree?

Read that part in my post again.

I didn't call you ignorant. I said that I thought wearing a "straight pride" shirt was stupid...for the same reason that your average American wearing the other shirt I mentioned was stupid.

The average American is heterosexual. The average American is willfully ignorant. Celebrate normal all you want. I still think it's stupid (unless a homosexual was wearing a straight pride shirt...that would certainly work on an ironic level.)

To clarify, that's not what I meant. I meant that wearing a t-shirt that proclaims you to be in the vast majority is, in my humble opinion, stupid.

No slur against manimal was intended...

I couldn't agree more...carrying a baby for nine months is nothing compared to raising one for 18 years....D
