My G5 is getting a clean sweep reformat. I just spent $300 I didn't have on a 250GB Lacie drive to backup all the files.

Any last minute, special recommendations or precautions macsperts? Toshi?

free block - disk utility couldn't fix it. Developed a printer problem that I've been unable to solve and I need to partition the drive out anyway.

if you have the luxury of it, i'd set up two partitions on the drive. i still have one partition running jaguar, and it will be my tiger drive when i'm making that transition.

edit: now that i think of it, my desktop is running two physically distinct drives nowadays, not two partitions. you should consider that, too, since having photoshop swap on a different drive mechanism is rumored to be a Good Thing

my g4 is running great. look into getting an external hard drive. I picked up a 200GB with firewire enclosure for about $160 from Fry's. it is pretty good, I store my whole 60GB hd on it with space for movies and such.
