Action Alert - Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Trail

Your Support is Needed Now. The last day for comments is Feb 22nd, 2005!

There's progress on the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Trail! A revised Environmental Assessment has been issued, and a new comment period has started. The Forest Service needs to hear from mountain bikers in support of Alternative E, which would open the Middle Fork trail to cyclists.

The Middle Fork Snoqualmie Access Travel and Management Plan Environmental Assessment has been adjusted to work with the needs of the in-holders. None of the agreed upon changes has any real effect on bicyclists or the Middle Fork Trail. We are still on track to have access on odd numbered days during the drier season between April 15 and October 15, subject to Forest Service decision based on rainfall. It should also be noted that bicycle access is on a 3 year provisionary status, as was previously negotiated.

Read more and take action! We have an automated email form set up, and voicing your support will only take 30 seconds.

Thank you for supporting mountain biking,

Please everyone take some time to do an email on this one. It's a cool XC trail closer to the city, exit 34 old edgewick exit just past North Bend). Years back when mt. bikers were even more unorganized, evil hiker nazi's took our trail rights away from us by lying about numerous things. It's a great trail and should have ALWAYS been open for us..... Tiger Mt. is a great example of how mt. bikers CAN co-exist with hikers and equestrians and also contribute to the trails. The evil hiker nazi's are running out of lies.

Thanks everyone for submitting letters to the Forest Service, and let's keep them coming! Its a numbers game, we need to make sure there are WAY more letters in favor of the latest proposal, and mountain biking in general.

This is different trail than what you're thinking of. Mid Fork Trail follows the River from about where the smooth road ends up to just past Goldmyer Hotsprings. It used to be a killer place for an xc ride. We can't wait to have it back, this process has been going on for quite a few years. We're very happy with the Forest Service for supporting alternative E.
