Anyone been out to Sycamore Cyn area here in SoCal? I haven't been around this area long enough to know when it'll be dry enough to ride. I'm itching here, have a couple of new bikes to play with, have guests coming in from the MidWest, also eager to ride in a couple of weeks...
What about the SB area too?
Zark, how was Romero?

Thanks for any help!

Romero has been through the blender. 15-18 major land slides, see my post in so-cal. I did as much hiking as riding there.

My guess is Sycamore faired a lot better than SB did. the storms didn't slam directly into that area quite like SB.

Sweet, yeah, but VC still got pretty hammered...
Really hoping I'll be able to get to the SB backcountry, but not holding out too much hope...

Not from what I've seen. I think Sycamore, some parts anyway, should be decent soon, but I'm meeting someone up here to ride, so...SB it is.

To the best of my knowledge, Martha's Grove (the only really fun part of Sycamore IMHO) is still closed.

Drove up to The OC on Sat. and did Santiago Truck Trail/The Luge for the first time. Really fun ride. I'm very much getting back into the XC thing. Shuttles are such a pain anyhow... (and a year from now, I'll be amazed at how fun it is to shuttle and DH without needing to pay out with the climb...on a nice big bike...)

Yeah, I'm back on the XC kick too. Well, maybe I'll travel a little when my buddies get in to town, never ridden the Santa Ana River Trail, that's supposed to be great...
Any other ideas for dry SoCal-area rides?

Hey, I'm looking to do the SART, too...I only tried once, and it was late April, and we found it was still snowbound. Let's get a ride together in mid-May or so and do that sucker!

Santiago Truck Trail was fun last Sat...looking to do SJT when the road opens back up...Noble is not in great shape right now, but I'll let you know how it is next time I ride it. We did some post-rain maintenance, but we're going to need to get to the mid-point of the trail and do some more serious work.

I really want to hit Mt. Wilson up soon, too.

Yeah, for sure! SART has been on my hit list for a loooong time. You let me know when...along with the SJT, and Mt. Wilson.
What are the hot tickets for rideable trails in say about 2 weeks? The more the merrier I always say, it'd be cool to try some new dirt with the friends in town.
