have you ever gotten the drop-shadow function to work properly?

Some of my clients like using it, so when I rip a file, it no work :mumble:

on such a topic, is there a particular forum for design/pre-press that's better than the rest?

I use the drop shadow feature often.
How old or new is your RIP ?
Are you applying a drop shadow to indd objects or Illustrator or Photoshop objects?
