The Ranks said they have not protested at other political events and do not have any immediate plans to do so again.
LOL :D I wouldn't either! :)

Jones said, "I don’t think this was just about a T-shirt issue. There were other things going on there. The officers, quite frankly, feared for the safety of the Ranks."
Bunch of a-hole republicans about to go all Postal. Remove 1,000 (or what ever) or remove 2 and stop things before they get worse.....I know I would go for the 2
Also says teh CIA ordered it. Not a shininig example but I am trying to give equal time...the cops did what they had to do.

Andrew Schneider, executive director of the ACLU’s West Virginia chapter, said the organization has been monitoring a pattern of similar cases in other states. The ACLU in September filed a federal lawsuit against the Secret Service, seeking an injunction against the Bush administration for segregating protesters at his public appearances.

The Secret Service agreed to stop the practice, ACLU attorney Witold Walczak told The Charleston Gazette.

Schneider said, "This case demonstrates we will be out there watching and monitoring to make sure free speech rights are not violated regardless of political affiliation."
Seperating protestors is a good thing. Stopping any mayhem that heat3ed political tempers on both sides can rise, especially when the Pres is around is a good thing. Moving the opposing side to another part of the city is not good.

god bless america!

while they were seriously inconvenienced, justice was served... they got off and the people who did it look stupid.

I think they should sue for false arrest.

I love this line: Jones said, "I don’t think this was just about a T-shirt issue. There were other things going on there. The officers, quite frankly, feared for the safety of the Ranks."

So apparently Bush supports are Violent people too...

C'mon... have you seen where they force protesters now? So far around the corner that the protest is never seen. Complete infringement on their rights to assembly.

I know there is a safety zone that needs to be established for the good of all, but they use that excuse to sequester them and stifle their voices.

I can only imagine.......

Take a bunch of any group that is oppinionated (any political group) and drop a few opposite minded people there to voice their opinion and I bet no warm arms are extended. :)

Did you like agreeing with me, Holmes? Read the VERY next sentence man! :D I didn't edit it after you decided to try and make it out like I didn't say the exact same thing.

Try again. ;)

IMO - The appropriate thing is to let them be, if people start getting upset about it then you can ask them to cover up or leave, if they refuse you take them away and put them into 'protective custody'...

No, he's not a "bloodthirsty, wanna drop nukes, invading, oppressing evil-doers". He's just a vocal supporter of one.

It hurts... I feel dirty... I need a shower!

I guess I was thinking more about the 'separating' and what the 'power that be' tend to think is appropriate. When they 'separate' the protesters it tends to be more like what you described (moving them across town)...

I would never accuse you of editing afterwards...

Maybe... since they were not doing anything other than wearing a shirt.

Even the guy who was defending the police action never mentioned any disturbance other than the T shirt. It would be VERY easy for the police to justify their action if people had started to gather around them or yell at them... but the police made no mention.

I'm sure you have an explination for that though... liberal media blah blah blah

Going to have to wash long and hard to get that Rhino stench off you ;)

Yeah that might have read a little stronger when it was meant to be playfull, my bad.

I just thought it was funny that I had it there all along and people decide to go on anyway with the attack Rhino shtick :D

I can't argue when you agree with me....well accept in the Poli Forum. :D

No explination.....just a short article. I am sure they could get everything into that article...no details were left out. ;) Point is that they were found to be wrongly accused and the charges were dropped. That is a good thing.
