i have an 03 sid team, i have it set up to my weight as it says to for "racing"

the fork feels fine, but the little thingy on the fork to measure travel doesn't seem to be moving more than halfway to the crown. is this normal, can i get more travel by using the "Plush" air pressure for my weight?

oh, and also, is it normal for a small amount of redrum to come out when letting out air?

i can't remember which chamber you are supposed to let air out of first. but yeah it will come out if you don't do it in the right order if i'm not mistaken. you can set the fork up a little plusher if you like but if it feels fine then i wouldn't mess w/ it.

When SIDs bottom out, the legs don't get that close to the crown as marzocchi's do. Push on the bars as hard as you can and measure the amount the travel indicator moves; it should be the amount of travel your fork has.

It just LOOKS like you should be getting more travel.

*I think*:D

Yeah, Sids just don't compress very much. It's just the way they're designed. I think it's to make the fork taller without have more travel.

I don't think so; that doesn't make much sense to me. The SID is designed for XC racing, so you don't want the height. If they wanted the fork to be taller, I would think they'd want the legs to be longer to get more stanchion overlap (i.e. stiffer fork).

Just my thoughts, I imagine there is a legit reason for it.
