Great pics! There's a Naval Air Station in my home town, and the Blue Angles used to come every summer for the airshow there. It was great. Now, with George W.'s list of base closures, looks like no more airshows. They're shutting her down.

that little Korean era russian mig:
I say one of those hit tarmac at full speed. It was scary. the heat from the explosion was enough to give me a "sunburn" from 300 yds away. Sad. A down draft pushed him right down from 25ft off the deck.

Nice demo of the jet assisted take-off (JATO)! I flew in a Herc that used the JATO setup on my way back from Antarctica. Very neat experience on take-off, especially when the rockets kicked in.

Way cool...its amazing how close they get in those formations. Fleet Week in SF is really cool...the Blue Angels so some crazy stuff over the bay.
