i have shimano alivio cranks, i was wondering if there is any way to take the chainrings off and run a spider on them so i could have a bash ring? The chain rings i have now are like welded together, and i hate them. Help please

I doubt it... just check ebay, you can probably get some nice cranks with rings and bashguard for under $50.

look at supergo, performance, and other mailorder companies, they should have Shimano LX cranks for around $50, these will be much better for you than the Alivio stuff.
