Ok, so tomorrow is voting time. I'm wondering how many others out there have been inundated with canned recorded phone calls from the people looking for their votes, reminding them to vote, or trumping for someone in the running. I've called our political parties back, told them the calls are not appreciated (especially the ones made to our TCF line), and to not contact us again. I don't think it worked.

When you call them back, make sure to use the word "Newkular" and the phrase "Back to the stone age" at least 3 times a piece.

I don't find the automated phone messages as annoying as the leaflets in the mailbox. I must get four pieces of mail a day.

my parents on the other hand get at *least* two calls a day for John Hall. funny thing is they're both registered republicans who might've voted dem except for the fact that "I'm not sure who I'm voting for, but I'm definitely not voting for John Hall, whoever he is"...

the now-familiar grab-bag of dirty tricks, voter suppressions efforts and stuff that's broken is expanding. Most notable: in a string of states, the Republican National Congressional Committee has funded tens of thousands of robo-calls that seem to come from the local Democrat candidates. The idea - and it seems to have worked - is that Democrat voters resent the intrusive and incessant calls and are deterred from voting. Evil doesn't come much more mundane than that.

-A right wing racist (and prolly sexist)
-Might as well be right wing sexist


one of my friends is telling me that i HAVE to vote....
and it makes me feel dirty for considering either candidate.
