Hi everyone. Newbie to Ridemonkey here =)

Question. Might sound silly but how do you guys stand your bike without any bike stands or repair stands?

I heard about using branches on the edge of the saddle but how do you do it?

    Needed when cleaning my bike

Thanks a lot. Hope to hear from munkeys out there. =p

For on trail repairs... Hang the nose of the seat over a tree branch strong enough to hold the bike, and let the front of the bike nose down till the weight of the bike holds it in place.

Using a screw in hook in the rafters is another cheap affective way of doing it at home. Same thing as tree branch method, but place the nose of seat over said hook. I decided a long time ago to bypass these said methods, and go buy a bike stand instead!

Best purchase I ever made! Now I just use the hooks for bike storage, but occasionally still use the tree branch method out on the trail.

Yeah. I would also swear by a bike stand. But while waiting to get one, just want to know some alternative methods to stand em.

i've always wondered how bikes seen to stand midair in magazines. Haha

I used to use a stick under one pedal, and weight the bike on the stick to prop it up. That works well, but takes time to get it just right for pictures.
