I have a new SGS, after my second ride I have noticed that the bolt the protrudes from the drive side (by the lower pivot and points out towards the top of the inside of the chain device, dont ask me what its purpose is) is rubbing on the swingarm as it compresses, it has worn away the paint and then some frame material.

What is this bolt for? how do I stop it?

Not for nothing, but someone who can't spell genius correctly shouldn't be making sarcastic remarks like that.

As far as the threaded rod goes, any chance you can take a picture of it?

That thing sticking out is for an E-Type front derailur mount 'I think'.
Not sure why its rubbing for you, maybe its just a slightly messed up frame. Id assume you could just dremel that entire peice off and be good to go, I was actually thinking about doing it next season anyways.

I never understood why a world cup frame came with a front derailleur mount.

Yeah i think you are right. Can anyone confirm as to whether taking a dremel to it is a good idea, I cant see why not

I wish I had an answer for you on that one! Call Iron Horse at 800 645 5477. Wouldnt hurt to send them a couple pictures so they understand what you are talking about.

This seems the best answer so far,

"That is a mount for certain types of chainguides and etype FD's (if you want to ghetto one on there). There shouldn't be any interference w/ the nub and the chainstay. Take out the shock and check for any interference. If there is you can remove the nub w/ a hacksaw. It's probably caused by rocks and grit getting between there and the CS and scratching under bottomout. -ska todd"

I'll try get some pics before I cut it off.
